Let’s celebrate + a giveaway to help your business grow!
Today’s my birthday and I wanted us to celebrate together! I’ve already received my gift of a lie-in (unheard of with two small children!) and now I want to give YOU a gift!
I’m offering two blog readers the chance to win a Skype coaching consultation!
I love doing consultations because I get the chance to chat in real-time with the client. We each get to contribute to the conversation, brainstorming and bouncing ideas off each other. I find consultations effective whether you need help with something specific like press kit ideas or the bigger picture for your business. I can help!
- Need some encouragement because sales are disappointing?
- Want tips on how to get editorial features in National Magazines?
- Want help finding retail stores to approach with your wholesale line?
- Want to expand into another market but not sure how?
- Need to brainstorm a new idea or need help organising a plan of action?
- Maybe your marketing efforts are not working and you want some recommendations on how you can get better results?
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling me what your favourite Academy post has been so far. Go on, take a look around and see what we’ve been writing about!
I tend to shy away from giveaways that ask you to do lots of things so I figure I can’t be the only one. So I want to keep it simple BUT if you spread the word on Twitter, Facebook or blog about the giveaway you will get an extra entry. Just make sure you come back and let me know in the comments.
Deadline is 6 August 2011. Winners will be announced on the 8th after a draw using random.org.
Any questions please let me know.
Good luck!

Hands down the story of Jessika of oh my handmade goodness. Just beautiful!
What a great giveaway!
This is an amazing giveaway! I have mentioned it on Facebook and Twitter and my favourite post on The Academy so far is the secret of marketing post … http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/06/the-secret-of-marketing/
This post changed how I approach marketing now and it really opened my mind, thanks!
My favorite post, that is hard to choose, your posts are all so helpful. I think that I really liked the post about styling a photo shoot for paper goods.
Happy Birthday Isa. I just had a good look around your blog and find it really hard to choose from. So here are my top three posts:

Again something I will bear in mind for my own business
I totally re-vamped my newsletter after reading this post about the fab Mr Yen’s newsletter. Brilliant!

I’ll go and tweet/fb this right now!
I absolutely enjoyed reading the “Styling a photoshoot: Paper Goods” post. I’ve been searching for tips on how to photograph paper goods in a way that makes not only the paper goods the art, but also the photograph of them art as well. I’ve had a lot of trouble in the past (and considering I do wedding photography, I want nothing but perfection!) and I think this will help me a lot.
This article comes just in time – I’m trying to create my own business – incorporating my designs, my weddings, my photography and I know I need new photographs of the paper goods.. so thank you! This gives me new light and a new found excitement!
Thank you for your inspiration!
I have waaaay too many favorites! So hard to choose!
Ok, here goes, one of my most favorite so far has been this post: http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/06/the-secret-of-marketing/ Looks like I’m not the only one (nudges, Mr. Yen).
I found this post really useful recently.
http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2010/02/creative-block-and-tips-to-smash-your-way-out-of-it/
I had a bit of a crisis of confidence which resulted in a huge creative block. I had no real reason for my lack of confidence apart from obsessing over ‘the imaginary competition’…
I was on here reading another blog & was clicking around & found this. It helped me get out of my slump & the next day I had 3 new designs drawn out. So actually a huge thank you is due!

I love all your posts, Isa. I always come away with a pearl or two (or more!) of wisdom. I know my favorite post was on creating a newsletter http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/06/top-10-tips-for-newsletters/
That post completely changed my newsletter layout and inspired my monthly “chat” with my mailing base. I know I’ve thanked you, but thank you, again!
I’ve tweeted this post and will post on my Facebook pages as well :)
I would absolutely squeal with joy if I won this :))
Happy Birthday!
My favourite post would have to be ‘Stop competing, start winning’ (http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/05/stop-competing-start-winning/). I’d been caught up in the race to the top and this post helped shift how I see the handmade community.
So many good posts to choose from..i couldn’t pick one ..but i guess my top pick is stop competing start winning
http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/05/stop-competing-start-winning/
I also tweeted about this giveaway … such a lovely one too !
What a fab birthday giveaway, thanks for the opportunity! I’m really glad of the prompt to go back and read through pages of your posts to find odd ones I’ve missed. Obviously it’s tough to pick just one but I rather like the Create Your Mark post. I like the little insight into your story and the questions you post are challenging and inspiring and encouraging all at the same time! Thanks very much for the chance, Gabrielle x
Ooh this is great! My favorite posts (tough to pick!) were the ones on trends and design forecasting–really got the wheels spinning. Happy birthday!
I really loved your post called “sharing your creative process” : http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/06/sharing-your-creative-process/
Also… HAPPY BIRTHDAY :o) I love your blog!
Hi Isa!
I’ve been having to reflect on this, because I find it very rare that I don’t get some kind of inspiration or benefit from each of your posts, but I think I have to say that there are two things you’ve written that have really stayed with me and helped to give me the courage and conviction to leave my job and go full-time in my business.
The first, was your story. Your bravery, strength and determination truly inspired me to “seize the day” and made me realise that life is too precious to waste doing something you’re not 100% committed to.
The second, was “Create your mark on the world” which you published a few days after I handed in my notice and in which you kindly featured a link to my story. Everything you wrote soothed away any doubts and wobbles I was having about my decision and allowed me to face the future with a sense of determination and excitement, and made me feel truly lucky that I have finally found my creative outlet and that I have the chance to make it my living.
I feel very grateful to have found this blog and to you for providing the exact advice and thinking points I need at this time.
Thank you again Isa, and Happy Birthday again from me xxx
Just tweeted – will blog and FB from home! x
I think that using branding to get noticed was one of the most helpful as I am currently branding something new. This is an exciting giveaway for sure!
I love the article about trends in the mainstream media vs. the handmade, DIY world. Your observations were spot on! I can’t wait to see what else you have to say on that topic.
Cheers,
Brooke
Your blog is full of great resources, my favorite is “Knowledge is power”. I retweeted you on twitter (ncrew) that’s how I found your blog :)
Hi,
It seems my choice of blog post is also one of the more popular ones! I loved this post http://blog.noisettemarketing.com/2011/05/stop-competing-start-winning/ because I’ve found myself falling into the same trap before and I like that the topic resonates with so many of us.
I’d love to win the Skype consultation as I think my art business could really use the boost. My fingers and toes are crossed that Random.org picks me!
Hey, what a fab website!
I loved all the branding stuff, in particular ‘how to get noticed’. All food for thought as I am just starting out, got some interesting marketing ideas now – thanks!
